Ernakulam is the twin city of Kochi, situated across the backwaters and connected with bridges to the port city. It is the major commercial and financial hub of Kerala. Some of the places of interest in Ernakulam are Hill Palace Tripunithura, Chottanik temple, Ernakulam Shiva Temple, Sree Poornathr Temple and Ramakrishna Math, and Marine Drive. Both budget and good accommodation is available. The Gateway Hotel Marine Drive is a five star hotel, while Grand Hotel and A V Residency are 3 star hotels. Some of the good restaurants are Ming’s Wok, where one can get good Chinese food and Punjab House that caters to the North Indian cuisine. Ernakulam is connected by air, road and rail, Ernakulam Town and Ernakulam Junction are two main railway stations, the nearest airport is Kochi Airport and regular bus services connects the city to other major cities of the country.
