Overview

ust 8 km south of Kalpetta, Chembra Peak is the highest peak in the Wayanad district.  It is part of the Western Ghats located next to the Nilgiri range. The district tourism department organises trekking up to the peak. Both guides and trekking equipment are provided by the department as well.  A heart-shaped lake is situated about halfway from the peak. This picturesque little lake is a popular tourist attraction and a halt for the trekkers on their way up. The trek beyond the lake goes through dense forests for about 2 more km.
